Redesigned a publisher's manually-updated static site into a dynamic React site with a self-serve admin area, so the client can manage his own catalogue — books, authors, and categories — without touching code.
Existing background-remover plugins were slow, jagged, and paywalled — so I built my own. Runs open-source AI models on-device instead of a paid server, with my own API wired up through ngrok.
Site for a non-profit that resells donated goods and gives the proceeds to a rotating roster of charities. Covers the mission, how to donate, and the current and upcoming causes — built to be easy for the founder to keep updated.
I'm Vera — an incoming Systems Design Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, based near Toronto. I come from a design background and I like building real things for real people more than making mockups nobody uses.
Right now that means client websites with hand-built backends (because I learn faster when I can't hide behind a service), tools I make because the existing ones annoy me, and art on the side.
I play frisbee in my free time and currently represent the number 1 junior girls team in the province!
